Privacy policy
Effective September 24, 2026
Internship Agent fills in and submits internship applications for you, from your own Chrome, using the profile you give it. This page covers what it collects, what it does with your Gmail, who else sees your data, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
- From your Google account, when you sign in: your name, email address and Google account ID.
- Gmail, if you allow it: read-only access to your inbox. We store a token that lets the agent read it while it works on your applications. The next section says exactly what it reads.
- What you give us: your profile (contact details, education, work history, work authorization for each country, any self-identification answers you choose to give, and your answers to recurring questions), your résumé, and any other documents you upload.
- What the agent records: for each application, the job, every answer it gave and where that answer came from, screenshots of the form, and the result.
How the agent uses your Gmail
The agent reads your inbox only to work on applications you asked it to send, and only for messages that name an employer you applied to:
- a verification code an employer emails you in the middle of an application;
- the confirmation an employer sends after you apply, and later messages about that application, such as an interview invitation or a rejection.
Messages are read to find the code or the confirmation, and are not stored. The agent keeps only the code, which it types into the application it was sent for and notes in that application's record, and the subject line and kind of any confirmation or update, which are saved with the application. It looks for updates after each run, every few hours, and when you choose Check now.
It can't send, delete or change your email, and it doesn't mark messages as read. Your Gmail data is never sent to an AI service, never shared, and never used for anything else.
If you didn't allow Gmail access, or a code doesn't turn up that way, the agent may open a Gmail search for the employer's name in its own application window in your Chrome and read the code there.
Who else sees your data
- The employers you apply to receive the answers and documents in each application, through their application sites (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and others). Sending them is the service.
- Anthropic. To read application forms and write answers, the agent sends the application page (screenshots and question text) and the parts of your profile needed to answer it, including your résumé text and any self-identification answers you gave, to Anthropic's Claude API. When you upload your résumé, its text is also sent once to suggest profile fields, which you confirm before they're used. Gmail data is never sent.
- Fly.io runs the server and stores your data, in Toronto, Canada.
- Google provides sign-in and Gmail access.
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it for anything except running your applications.
Google user data
Internship Agent's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data from Gmail and other Google Workspace APIs is not used to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.
No one at Internship Agent reads your Gmail data unless you ask us to, for example when you ask for help with an application, or unless it's needed for security or required by law.
How we protect it
- Every connection to the site is encrypted with HTTPS.
- Your data is stored on an encrypted disk, and the Gmail token is encrypted again before it's saved.
- Each account can see only its own data.
- Technical logs of each run are deleted after 7 days, and never contain what was typed into a form.
- The Chrome extension controls only the window it opens for your applications, never your other tabs.
- Sign-ins expire after 30 days.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
Your profile, documents and application records are kept while you have an account, so you can always see what was sent.
- To stop Gmail access at any time, remove Internship Agent under Third-party apps & services in your Google account. The agent stops reading your inbox immediately.
- To get a copy of your data, choose Download my data in Settings: your profile, answers, documents, and every application with its answers and screenshots. The passwords the agent created on job sites aren't included.
- To delete your account and everything stored with it, choose Delete my account in Settings. It happens straight away: runs stop, Gmail access is revoked, and your data is deleted. You can also email danny.yang639@gmail.com and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Applications already sent stay with the employers who received them. To have one removed, contact that employer.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects how your data is used, the app tells you before it takes effect.
